Folk art carved articulated doll/limberjack

12.5 inches tall with an incredibly distinctive and over-sized face/head.  The nose is made out of the natural contours of the wood where a knot or branch existed.  I'm assuming that it was meant to be danced given the hole in the top of the head and back, but it has an awkward upper body form that would prevent the arms from freely moving.  Great patina and overall completeness.  The over-sized head and hands remind me a bit of Appalachian poppet dolls from the early 20th C.
