Folk art, primitive carved and polychromed totem

If I had one piece that I'd term epic, it would be this one. Purchased on ebay a couple of years ago for a very modest sum. Dating maybe to the turn of the century? It measures 23 1/2 inches and is covered in a variety of polychromed images - Inuit, gunfighter, snake, Indian chief, animals, etc. The carver has created some three dimensional images to go along with the many bas-relief ones. I can only guess that this was a whimsical, for the fun of it carving - I've never seen another folk totem like it.
